![]() ![]() You don't mention when the second sticky note was ignored to place the accumulated mail at your doorstep. What’s the best way for me to go about getting a replacement key for my mailbox? Thanks in advance for any advice you all may have. I’ve looked at the USPS website for answers but it’s tricky because from what I gathered you have to be the owner of the mailbox to get new keys, which I’m not since the apartment complex owns it not me, and they haven’t been willing to help in any regard. This hasn’t been much of a problem but I’m expecting some important mail soon so now I really need to figure out how to get in the box. I put a sticky note on our box asking to place mail on our doorstep instead (it’s only like 10ft away from the box and on the first floor so not a huge hassle or anything) and the mail person actually did do that once but next time I walked past I noticed the sticky note had been removed (not sure if it was done by the mail person or the property manager). I called our property manager to ask about it back then and she said they don’t have any extra keys or a master key and she can’t help me in any way. ![]() We lost our key to it back in September and haven’t been able to access it since. I rent an apartment and all USPS mail gets sent to a community mailbox outside.
